Turn Old Candle Jars into Beautiful New Uses: A Candle Lover’s Story

The first time I bought a candle, I was instantly captivated — not just by the scent but by how beautiful it looked. It lit up more than my room; it sparked a whole new love for candles.

Back then, I didn’t even know what scent it was! But it didn’t matter. Within months, I found myself buying more and more candles. And since they’re often £15 or more each, I quickly learned to reuse every part of them — especially the jars.

Here’s exactly how I clean and repurpose my old candle jars:

🧼 How to Clean Candle Jars Easily

Once the candle is finished, I run the jar under warm water. This softens the leftover wax and helps remove any stubborn labels or stickers — although I always find the bottom one is trickiest!

If there’s a lot of wax left, place the jar in the freezer for a few hours. The wax shrinks and pops out easily.

♻️ Creative Ways to Reuse Candle Containers

I’ve reused jars as:

Small plant pots for succulents

Flower vases

Desk organizers for pens and brushes

Storage for craft supplies or kitchen herbs

My husband even uses them in his shed to store nuts, bolts, and nails!
